Introduction to Product Design
Our 'Short Awareness Programs' for Art and Design are targeted towards helping students in the secondary school learn about the many areas of study under art and design. These areas, otherwise also known as disciplines, are the major subjects often offered as undergraduate degree courses in most art and design colleges and universities across the globe. And Product Design, is one such area. Product Design is a practice that is primarily concerned with addressing needs or problems faced by living beings in everyday life. These products may be physical or even digital, regardless, it requires you to put the potential consumer of the product at the centre of the design process. In this course, we are not going to be addressing a problem, however, we are going to take you through the process of designing a product. Apart from the practical assignment in designing a product, you will learn more about the discipline through a range of resources as well as from a practitioner and a student in the form of a pre-recorded interview. Lastly, we share some career-building resources that can help you plan your future in Product Design, should you be interested.

Introduction to Interior Design

And Interior Design, is one such area. Interior Design in simple terms is a practice that is associated with designing a space with functionality as well as aesthetics. This can be for residential or even commercial purposes. However, the practice extends even beyond that into things like lifestyle design, furniture design etc. In this course, we attempt to make you aware about some of these things within the practice of Interior Design. In addition, we also take you through a practical assignment to help you understand the design process. Furthermore, this course also includes interviews with a professional as well as a student to help you understand Interior Design from different perspectives. Lastly, we share some career-building resources that can help you plan your future in Interior Design, should you be interested.

LITTLE ABOUT US
A learning space that specialises in art and design
Uno Lona Academy is a learning space that specialises in art and design education for K-12 students. For the past 5 years, we have been working with young students to help them identify their interests within the disciplines of art and design. In addition, we have also mentored several students in developing their careers in art and design by also assisting them with their portfolios for college applications.
Our alumni is now spread across the map with admissions and scholarships received from world renowned colleges and universities such as Parsons, Pratt Institute, RISD, UAL, SAIC, Minerva Art Academy and more.

My journey at Unolona has been an incredible one. I have gone from having a vague idea about design to actually living through its process. Here, not only was I taught to brainstorm and ideate but also to convey my ideas effectively, something I struggled to do before. Moreover, the brainstorming sessions with the faculty here helped me re-evaluate my ideas and improvise on them likewise. I was taught to empathize with and understand my audience before designing a product.
