Introduction to Fashion Design

Our 'Short Awareness Programs' for Art and Design are targeted towards helping students in the secondary school learn about the many areas of study under art and design. These areas, otherwise also known as disciplines, are the major subjects often offered as undergraduate degree courses in most art and design colleges and universities across the globe. And Fashion Design, is one such area. Fashion is a broad area with opportunities in design, direction, styling, marketing and more. In this course however, we’re going to focus on Fashion Design and very specifically focus on designing a fashion accessory. This practical assignment will not only give you exposure to the design process, it will also help you understand what goes behind developing something new. In addition, you will get resources that will expose you to Fashion in a broader sense. Furthermore, you will hear a student talk about the discipline from her perspective and share insights into the practice. Lastly, we share some career-building resources that can help you plan your future in Product Design, should you be interested.
